Huis Ergo, is a majestic patrician residence, or “hôtel particulier”, saved from ruin by the current owners and painstakingly restored to its original glory. Bit by bit the building has exposed its secrets and told its story. A story of nobility and ambition. The story of Huis Ergo. A story that you can now share.
Huis Ergo is located in the historic town centre, a stone’s throw away from the Rubenshuis (Rubens museum) and close to several art galleries, museums and the venerable University of Antwerp. Several popular cafes and restaurants are within walking distance.
You have the choice of three luxurious B&B rooms. The rooms are spacious and bright, each authentically capturing the atmosphere and elegance of old Antwerp. With ample private parking and a heated swimming pool Huis Ergo provides the perfect base from which to enjoy all that our lovely city has to offer.
A stay at Huis Ergo is an experience in itself that perfectly complements a visit to historic Antwerp. Entering the magnificent Palladian coach hall, with its imposing pillars and arches, you escape into another world. Before exploring the city, you can enjoy your breakfast in the garden or in the adjacent original Empire-style dining room. And after visiting Antwerp’s many sights, Huis Ergo welcomes you home to a refreshing swim in our heated pool in the immaculately restored 16th century cellars. Upstairs on the first floor are several spacious rooms for your enjoyment, decorated in the original grandeur of the period with exquisitely decorated high ceilings, chandeliers, gorgeous fireplaces and parquet floors from the mid 19th century. Here you can relax, read a book or just enjoy your surroundings. The three guest rooms await you on the second floor, which is also accessible by lift. Each room has been decorated with the greatest care to ensure that your stay be a truly memorable experience.
