Founder of Limeline, Dutch born Chris Zimberlin was born with a passion for design, and this passion ensured that today, his company represents some of Europe’s top furniture and design brands available in Southern Africa. His interest in design – from architeture and furniture design, to art and fashion- influences and guides his life on a daily basis. His passion and inherent eye for proportion and detail leads him to seek out design in all aspects of every day life.
Having qualified as a building engineer in Holland, Chris went on with further studies in architecture in Holland and his masters degree in Property Development in Pretoria. His first foray into architecture and property development was in the luxury housing market in Sandton and in and around Pretoria. Following this, he moved to concentrate on low-cost housing in the townships, with his focus shifting to address more of the social issues in South Africa. His involvement with the local communities in Gauteng led to the development on various schools and community centers, working with direct investment from the mining industry, all of which provided a good combination of solid, practical building principles, and high-end execution.
Combining his experience in architecture with his love of design, Chris founded Limeline Interiors in 1997. In nearly 14 years, Limeline has established itself as South Africa’s leading distributor of top European furniture brands and products, and secured exclusive rights to many of Europe’s best name brands.
